Tempered Glass

Safety and Durability for Artistic Glasswork

Vetro Artefatto

What is Tempered Glass?

Tempered glass is a high-strength glass obtained through a thermal treatment known as tempering. This process significantly enhances the glass's durability, making it ideal for various applications.

Production Process

Tempering involves heating the glass to high temperatures and then rapidly cooling it. This treatment gives tempered glass up to six times the strength of standard glass. In case of breakage, it shatters into small, blunt pieces, minimizing the risk of injury.

Benefits of Tempered Glass

Applications of Tempered Glass

Tempered glass is particularly well-suited for artistic stained glass, flat glass fusions, and laminated or safety glass, which combines artistic glass with a supporting sheet using a plastic interlayer. Additionally, sandblasted glass can be both laminated and tempered, providing a broad spectrum of artistic and functional options.
